  1. SIRA physical test;

The SIRA officials conduct this test at the training center. The security guard candidates should pass various physical tests.  You will receive the result on the spot.

Here’s how it works: When you run and cross a specific distance within the given time frame, you pass the running test. The same applies to other physical tests—you must complete each one within the specified time to pass.

2. Written test;

This is a crucial test where you must demonstrate the knowledge you’ve gained from the basic security guard course at the training centers.

SIRA officials also conduct this test, and you must secure at least the minimum passing mark of 70% or above.

After completing your writing test, you can get the result from your employer. SIRA sends the results directly to the company, and your employer will notify you of the outcome.

If you have taken the course independently, you will need to contact the SIRA office or the training center for the results.

  2. Create an account: When you visit the Dubai government job portal ” Dubai Careers” create an account by filling required information. If you enable the notification this portal let you know if your skills and experiences meet any new openings.
  3. Check the available position: From the general listing you can check out the available jobs but if you want to narrow your search select the desired entities and roles you want to look for.
  4. Online application: If you find your dream job then apply for it. It takes a few minutes but you should prepare the scanned copies of your documents such as educational certificates, relevant training certificates, experience documents, and passport and Emirates ID or residential visa. Fill in all the required information and upload your documents.
  5. Interview call: Once the relevant department reviews your application they will call you for the interview. If no call or no email for an interview think your application is rejected. Be sure you are fully prepared for the interview, some positions require a written exam you should be ready for that too.
  6. Start your job:  If you succeed in the interview and secure the position, you will receive a job appointment letter from the government entity and can begin your services.

1. Annual Leave:

  • If an employee has worked for more than six months but less than a year, they are entitled to 2 days of leave for each month of service.
  • After completing one year of service, employees are entitled to 30 days of annual leave each year.
  • Employers may allow employees to take leave during the probation period, but this will be deducted from their annual leave.
  • UAE Labour Law Unpaid Leave: If an employee hasn’t used their annual leave and their contract is terminated or they switch jobs, they are entitled to cash compensation based on their basic salary.

2. Sick Leave:

  • After completing the probation period, employees are entitled to a maximum of 90 days of sick leave per year if they are unable to work due to health reasons.
  •  The Sick leave is structured as follows:
    • The first 15 days with full pay.
    •  The next 30 days with half pay.
    • Any additional days without pay.

3. Parenthood Leave:

Employees are entitled to 5 working days of full pay from the child’s birth until six months after.

4. Compassionate Leave:

  • Employees are entitled to 5 days of leave with full pay in the event of a spouse’s death.
  • In the case of the death of a parent, child, sibling, grandchild, or grandparent, employees are entitled to 3 days of leave with full pay.
  • UAE Labour Law for Emergency Leave: ensures that these days off do not result in any salary deductions.

  2. The UAE labor law does not allow any extension of the probation period beyond six months.
  3. During the probation period, employers have the right to terminate the contract without giving prior notice if you don’t abide by the company’s regulation.
  4. If your employer terminates your contract during this period, you cannot take legal action against them for the termination.
  5. Gratuity is not applicable if your employment ends while you’re still under probation.
  6. Upon completing the probation period, your employment will continue as per the terms stated in your contract.
  7. If you wish to change jobs during the probation period, you must notify your current employer in writing at least 30 days in advance. The new employer is responsible for compensating the previous employer for employment costs and any related government fees.
  8. If foreign workers wish to terminate their contract and leave the country, they must inform their current employer in writing at least 14 days in advance. If they return to the UAE for employment within three months, the new employer is required to compensate the original employer.
  9. If either the employer or the employee terminates the contract without providing the required notice as mentioned in the article, they must compensate the other party with the wages equivalent to the notice period.
  10. If the worker leaves the country without complying with the article, it may result in a 1-year labor ban in the UAE.
