For several types of visas, including family and self-sponsorship, the UAE government requires a security deposit. This money is refundable if the visa is canceled or rejected. You can receive this money back or a visa deposit refund UAE by using both offline and online methods.

If you apply for a visa from other emirates except for Dubai, you must submit a visa refund application through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security (ICP) website.

You must utilize another service or the Dubai government services if you had applied visa for Dubai.  The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) website is the only place where you can submit your visa deposit refund application.

First Step: Create an account or log in with the UAE Pass.

Second Step: Enter the application request number or ID number that you received via email when you applied for the visa then select the refund method either cheque or bank account deposit.

Third Step : provides the following information;

• •  Emirates ID number
  • Your Full Name
  • Mobile number
  • Email address
  • UID or (Emirate Unified Number)
  • Select the nationality.

The following documents must be uploaded with your UAE visa deposit refund request:

• Scan copy of residence visa
• Copy of Passport
• A copy of the digital receipt from the ministry confirming the payment made during the visa application procedure.
• Copy of Emirates ID
• The bank statement clearly shows the account number and IBAN.

After uploading these documents, you must pay the AED 25 application cost or the ICP will deduct the same amount from your security deposit.

UAE visa deposit refund For Dubai;

You cannot seek a refund on the ICP website if your visa had issued by Dubai Immigration; this process must complete on the GDRFA website. visit the official website from this link;https://smart.gdrfad.gov.ae/Public_Th/StatusInquiry_New.aspx

Enter the required information including the application number, transaction number, and payment date. Click “Search” by checking the I am not a robot box.

When your enter information found on the GDRFA database a result will pop up. You have to choose the refund method and complete the further process.

To complete your application, you must create a user account on the GDRFA website and upload the required documents.
